Real Madrid Castilla earned a point on their visit to Recreativo Granada on league matchday 16. Despite Madrid's dominance in the first half, the home side took the lead through Julito in the 39th minute. In the second half, Álvaro Rodríguez made it 1-1 when he pounced on a loose ball in the box.

After the first few minutes of domination from the home side, Castilla took the initiative. Raúl's men played in the opposition half and came close to taking the lead on several occasions. First with a shot from the edge of the area by Peter that hit the post and then with a great shot by Lorenzo from the edge of the area that Pol Tristán saved. The rebound was picked up by Theo, who also was thwarted by the goalkeeper's block. Granada's goal came just as our team were having their best spell of the game. After getting away from several Castilla players, Julito beat De Luis with a low shot at the far post to put the home side ahead (39').

After the break, the home side were reduced to ten men when Diego López was sent off for stamping on Asencio. Castilla went forward to turn the score around and equalised in the 60th minute. Álvaro Rodríguez capitalised on a loose ball in the box to make it 1-1. In the 84th minute, Raúl's side could have got their second, but Aparicio's header went over the crossbar. Despite the madridistas' insistence, Granada closed down the spaces and held on to the draw until the end. Castilla host Intercity next time out (Saturday, 6:00pm CET).
